You can spy a reasonable person by their proclivity to ask reasonable questions. When they do this, the best course of action is to answer them reasonably. If those answers are not available, it is a reasonable response to wait until they are. The worst thing that can be done is to force the reasonable into a choice which is unreasonable. Then they will use their reasonableness to become suspicious of your unreasonable actions.
